Year 9 Learning
In Year 9, students progress from their Year 8 curriculum by advancing their Python Programming proficiency through an exploration of sophisticated programming concepts, including functions, procedures and data structures. The digital design unit introduces students to industry-standard software as they learn how to manipulate vector and bitmap images.
In Spring 1, students then engage in website desigm, as they will learn how to design and create a website using HTML, CSS & JavaScript. This is followed by the 'Emerging Technologies' unit, where tow of the most important aspects in computing are investigated - Artificial Intelligence and Cryptography.
The Summer term is made up of two units - Computer Networking and Systems Architecture. These topics provide students with foundational knowledge as they prepare for Year 10 GCSE Computer Science.
