Aspire Programme
The Aspire Programme at The Herewoode Academy aims to challenge all students in and outside of the classroom. The Programme targets students who are excelling in their year group or have the potential to.
Aims:
- To ensure that students are given additional opportunities to learn and be challenged.
- To help improve their study skills and knowledge of topics outside of the curriculum to prepare them for further study.
- To allow students to aspire to go on to higher education.
- To ensure all students excel at the school
Aspire Student Passport
In Years 7, 8 and 9, student will be encouraged to take part in additional challenges such as reading challenges, academic excellence challenges, taking part in extra-curricular clubs and visits. They will complete a certain number of challenges to graduate as an Aspire Scholar that year.
Masterclasses
In Year 8, students will be attending an additional lesson where they will focus on topics that they do not study as part of the school curriculum to inspire them to have a love of learning and thirst for knowledge.
