Year 8 Learning
Students continue to study both Dance and Drama in Year 8. Students have one lesson a fortnight. Students rotate between subjects at three points during the year: (approximately) October half term, Christmas and Easter.

Autumn Term
What you will be able to do at the end of this term:
- Work effectively with others to explore and create content
- Demonstrate some awareness of the dance style in action, dynamic, spatial and relationship content selection
- Perform with fluency, accuracy, control and energy
- Work honestly and respectfully with others to combine ideas and create content.
- Demonstrate some awareness of themes that affect character’s relationships
- Show some concentration in a performance, staying in role for at least 35 seconds
Spring/Summer Term
What you will be able to do at the end of this term:
- Perform repertoire with fluency, accuracy, control, energy and stamina
- Use actions, dynamics and space to suggest meaning
- Use a range of spatial designs and dance relationships
- Explore multiple ideas in rehearsals that link to briefs
- Show characters through selecting 3 physical and vocal skills
- Show concentration in a performance, staying in role for at least 45 seconds
- Use 2 dramatic techniques in a performance to help show the purpose.
- Devise scripted through improvisation
