Students Excel in Officiating Course and Earn Praise

Students at New College Leicester have been making a remarkable impact both on and off the pitch by participating in a Whistler Officiating Course. Over the past year, these dedicated students have put their training into action by refereeing local primary school football tournaments every Monday from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Their commitment and professionalism have not gone unnoticed. Teachers and event organisers have consistently provided outstanding feedback, praising the students for their leadership, fairness, and ability to manage games effectively. The tournaments have benefited greatly from their involvement, with the young referees ensuring matches are played in a safe, fun, and well-organised environment.

This year-long experience has been invaluable for the students, allowing them to develop essential skills such as communication, decision-making, and confidence. Their dedication has now paid off, as they are set to gain their FA Officiating Qualification—a significant milestone in their journey within the world of football.

The course has not only equipped the students with a solid understanding of officiating but has also instilled in them a sense of responsibility and a deeper appreciation for the game. Their efforts have not just been a boost for local primary school football but also for their own personal growth and future opportunities in sport.

New College Leicester is incredibly proud of these students’ achievements and their contributions to the community. Congratulations to all involved on their success, and best of luck as they take the next step in their officiating careers!
