Year 7 Learning

At The Herewoode Academy, we believe that all students can achieve in mathematics. However, it is important to recognise that some students take longer than others to acquire new skills. We allow some flexibility in the curriculum for students to progress at an appropriate pace. Therefore, the key content outlined here should be treated as a guidance only and is unlikely to be the same for all students and all classes throughout each year.

In Year 7, we aim to develop students sense of number and introduce them to a variety of tools and methods, concrete, pictorial and abstract, which will help them to develop mathematical thinking.
