Pupil Premium
Pupil premium is additional funding for schools in England to support disadvantaged children. Students who have been eligible for free school meals within the last 6 years are automatically eligible.
The Herewoode Academy has a significant number of students who are, or have been in the past 6 years, eligible to receive Pupil Premium, this is additional funding for students in years 7 to 11 who are, or have been eligible for free school meals, looked after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces.
Pupil Premium funding now extends to students who have been adopted from care or who left care under a Special Guardianship Order. As this information is not usually passed between schools, so if you are aware that your child falls into one of these categories, we would like you to make us aware.
This will enable us to make a claim for any additional funding which we are entitled to which in turn will go towards helping your child to succeed at The Herewoode Academy. We are grateful for the support of all parents and carers who have already made us aware of their eligibility for pupil premium, and we would remind you that you are under no obligation to provide us with this information; but obviously, we do wish to claim all funding we are entitled to in order to provide more support for students.
